Newby!

Postby alexb » Thu Oct 16, 2014 5:53 am

Hey fredrick, I'm new to the whole MIDI/OSC scene. Im currently on a project running VDMX5 and QLAB3. Im using a network router so i was told by a few friends to head in the direction of OSC. QLAB3 will be the Controller while VDMX5 recieves and executes. would you have any experience in AV/VJ software?

Hi Alex,

unfortunately I don't have experience with AV/VJ software but I have just taken a quick look onto the applications you have mentioned. Both of them claim to support the OSC protocol, therefore they should be compatible to OSC-Commander. However, you have to find out the addresses of the functions you want to use and create a specific layout for OSC-Commander for it. To do that use the dedicated editor.
I don't have a Mac thus I can't try those programs (even if there was a trial).
I hope this helps.

Best regards,
Frederik
